1. Objectifs
Intentions : - « More specifically, the primary aim of the study was to describe the triangular relationship between elderly people, principal natural helpers, and the SIMAD home care services. » (p. 150) - « This study also tries to stimulate reflections about the conditions likely to encourage better sharing between the state and natural helpers. » (p. 150) - « As natural helpers are most exclusively members of the recipients’ families (91% in this study), the results of this research will provide a portrait of reality of family support for the frail elderly who receive SIMAD services. » (p. 150)

Échantillon/Matériau : Personnes âgées de 60 ans ou plus remplissant ces trois critères de sélection: ayant un dossier actif au CLSC, ayant au moins un aidant naturel principal lui apportant des soins, recevant au moins 10 heures de service direct par semaine et participant au programme du SIMAD depuis au moins 3 mois et depuis moins que 12 mois.

3. Résumé
« The objective of the present study is to better understand the relationship between older people, principal natural helpers, and intensive home care services in Quebec. An exploratory qualitative study conducted in the Quebec city region in 1991 explored the dimensions surrounding the relationship between families and the State from the point of view of a partnership. » (p. 149)
