3. Résumé
« Entering into the experiences of the people interviewed gives a fuller understanding of how they see the breaking of the news of TBI. The research findings, clinical experience and testimonies of patients, families, physicians and healthcare professionals show that the individuals and their families are focused on the catastrophe, while physicians are looking for the best strategy for conveying information. Informing people of the diagnosis and deficits is and will remain a sensitive task. However, this harrowing experience can be made more positive, to strengthen the family’s resilience. A study currently underway is adapting an interdisciplinary programme for family intervention (PRIFAM) to the TBI clientele and their families, in order to make physicians and professionals better equipped to intervene. » (p. 717)
