« This article is a [...] [r]elevance of the attachment theory and family therapy in the assessment and treatment of attachment disorders. [...] [It] will first summarize some empirical findings that support the relevance of attachment theory to contemporary clinical practice. It will then highlight how a systemic perspective is integral to both the assessment and treatment of attachment disorders. Finally, it will explore six treatment models used with attachment disturbed children in the context of their families, with the intent of exposing the specificity and similarity of these models as focused on the co-regulation of affect, and as models where the relational therapist’s primary role is that of facilitator of attachment repair. » (p. 117)
