3. Résumé

Study seeking to understand the factors associated with sustained attendance of 9- to 15- year old youths in after-school art programs, in order to improve youth involvement in these programs. The results of this study support some, but not all, of the previous work showing statistically significant associations between specific predictors and attendance in community-based after-school programs. Overall, the results indicate a stable and committed engagement in the program by the majority of participants. The attendance rates suggest that youths from low-income multicultural communities can commit to an intensive arts program once obstacles such as cost and lack of transportation are removed.
