3. Résumé

«The theme of Relaying fathers – support for father involvement – and the highly marginalized target populations the project managed to reach made it especially innovative. The program was also innovative in terms of the characteristics of its practice model: applying the principles of action used in outreach work to a positive theme (involved fathering); taking a broad spectrum of actions to respond to the needs of vulnerable fathers; and accompanying fathers in their search for community resources if their problems were complex or they required specialized help. Lastly, the program was innovative through the ongoing involvement of a research team that evaluated the program and helped produce knowledge on the best ways to support the involvement of socio-economically vulnerable fathers by normalizing the practice model implemented by the program within a participatory action research framework.» (p. 207)
